How to Get to the Lookout at Mount Lavina by Car?
Mount Lavina is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2,246m (7,368ft) above sea level, located in British Columbia, Canada. It’s one of the highest roads in the country.
Where is Mount Lavina?
The peak is located in southern British Columbia. At the summit, you’ll find the Lavina Mountain Fire Tower, built in 1974, which provides stunning views of Duncan Lake.
Is the Road to Mount Lavina Unpaved?
The road to the summit is entirely unpaved and quite challenging, with tight switchbacks and very steep inclines, gaining an elevation of 2,240 meters (7,280 feet). Make sure you’re well-equipped and have an air pump with you. A 4x4 vehicle with good ground clearance is essential, as the steep descent can overheat your brakes. Lower your tire pressure, and go prepared to clear any windblown trees from your path.
Is the Road to Mount Lavina Open in Winter?
Due to the elevation, the road is typically accessible only in August and September (weather permitting), as snow makes it impassable the rest of the year.
