The road, officially known as Highway 10, is totally unpaved. It starts in the Yukon and ends in the Nortwest Territories. The area is remote and difficult to reach, so it is not recommended for general public use.
Is the Nahanni Range Road challenging?
It is a narrow and winding gravel road with limited visibility, one lane bridges and steep grades. It’s usually impassable in winters and very challenging in inclement weather conditions.
How long is the Nahanni Range Road?
The road is 193 km (119 miles) long running from Tuchitua (on the Robert Campbell Highway) to Cantung Tungsten Mine in the Northwest Territories. It was completed in the early 1960s to service the mine.
