Köyceğiz Geçidi, an absolute must for road lovers
Köyceğiz Geçidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.301m (7,549ft) above the sea level, located in Erzurum Province, in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey.
The road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called D270. Access to the pass is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions. The drive offers stunning views of a lake called Köyceğiz Göleti.
The pass road is 13.4 km (8.32 miles) long, running from Çakmaközü to Karayazı. The drive is steep, hitting an 11.8% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
