Nestled in the southern part of Turkey, the road to Girdev Lake—also known as Girdiv—is completely unpaved, steep, and extremely challenging. Located in the Turkish Mediterranean zone, the road ascends to around 2,000 meters through pine and cedar forests and continues into highland pasture areas, offering scenic viewpoints along the way.
How Long is the Road to Girdev Lake?
The road leading to the lake stretches 33.6 km (20.87 miles), running south-north from Gömbe (in Antalya Province) to Temel (in Muğla Province). A 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended for this rugged terrain.
