The road with 25 hairpin turns to Macahel Gecidi
Macahel Gecidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.821m (5,974ft) above the sea level, located in Artvin Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey.
Located near the border with Georgia, the road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called Borçka Camili Yolu. The drive is not easy, with hundreds of turns and 25 hairpin turns. Not recommended if your passengers are prone to car sickness.
The pass is 39.9 km (24.79 miles) long, running south-north from Borçka to Düzenli.Due its elevation and location, the pass is closed often in winters. The road is very steep, and hits a 25% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
