The road to Bulgurlu Dağı isn’t an easy one
Bulgurlu Dağı is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.905m (9,530ft) above the sea level, located in Van province of Turkey. It’s one of the highest roads of Europe.
Set high in the eastern part of the country, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. A 4x4 vehicle is required. This road is usually impassable from late October through late June or early July. The open and close dates all depend on snowmelt and snowfall each year. The drive features stunning views. The road to the summit is very steep, hitting a 15% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. The pass is 30.3 km (18.8 miles) long, running south-north from Aksu (Hakkari Province) to Kılıçtutan (Van Province).
