The road among the clouds from Çamlıyayla to Delimahmutlu
Located on the boundary between Konya and Mersin provinces in southern Turkey, the road from Çamlıyayla to Delimahmutlu is one of the highest roads of Europe.
Set high in the Taurus Mountains, the road is very challenging. It’s totally unpaved, narrow and steep, hitting a brutal 31% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. A 4x4 vehicle is required. This road is usually impassable from late October through late June or early July (depending on snow).
The road is 58 km (36 miles) long, running south-northwest from Çamlıyayla to Delimahmutlu. The drive tops out at 3.005m (9,858ft) above the sea level. It’s one of the highest roads of the country.
