Adventure along the wild road to Tobamızga Lake
Tobamızga Lake (Tobamızga Gölü) is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 2.720m (8,923ft) above the sea level, located in the Ardeşen district of Rize Province, in the eastern part of the Black Sea Region of Turkey.
The dangerous road to the lake is totally unpaved with challenging drop offs. It’s pretty narrow. Accessibility is largely limited to the summer season. 4x4 vehicle required. The drive offers stunning views. It’s a pretty steep road. Starting from Yayla, the road to the lake is 4.58 km (2.84 mi) long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 347 meters. The average gradient is 7.57%. It’s one of the highest roads of Europe.
