The unpaved road to the summit of Mount Yama
Mount Yama (Yama Dağı) is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.673m (8,769ft) above the sea level located on the Malatya and Sivas provincial borders, in Turkey.
The road to the summit is unpaved in good conditions. It’s pretty wide but steep. The summit hosts the Yama Mountain Radar Facility, a NATO Air Defense Radar, with a 'soccer ball' sphere radar. The road is usually kept open all year.
Starting from Köylüköyü, the ascent is 15.8km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 1.168 meters. The average gradient is 7.39%.
