A narrow scenic road to Mont Tendre
Mont Tendre is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.679m (5,508ft) above the sea level, located in the Jura mountains, in the canton of Vaud, in Switzerland. It’s another of those amazing, steep, deserted Jura roads climbing through the woods
The asphalted road to the summit ends at 1615 metres at the Chalet du Mont Tendre. A restaurant is located at its end, the Chalet du Mont Tendre. Starting from Montrichier, the ascent is 8.04 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 782 meters. The average percentage is 9.7 % and the maximum slope is 14 %. The entire route is on a single lane. Thus, while it is virtually deserted, it’s necessary to descend with caution around the numerous blind hairpins.
