Bassa della Sella, a Most Tricky Scenic Road
Bassa della Sella is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.138m (7,014ft) above the sea level, located in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland.
The road to the summit is mostly asphalted. This old road can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. It starts at Passo del San Gottardo. The road is winding, in some places only wide enough for one vehicle, and in many places bordered by the water unprotected by guardrails. It is a road popular with walkers and you will not imagine to meet a car on the road (though it could happen). Beyond the pass, a road continues to Lago della Sella, a high mountain reservoir at an elevation of 2.297m (7,536 ft) above the sea level.
