A curvy paved road to Lago della Sella
Lago della Sella is a high mountain reservoir at an elevation of 2.297m (7,536ft) above the sea level, located in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland.
The road to the lake, also known as Lago della Selia, is asphalted. It’s pretty narrow and winds up at the water level. It was built in 1947. This old road can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. The road starts fromthe Passo del San Gottardo. The road is winding, in some places only wide enough for one vehicle, and in many places bordered by the water unprotected by guardrails. It is a road popular with walkers and you will not imagine to meet a car on the road (though it could happen). A minor gravel road at the lake (E), climbs up to 2.525m above the sea level, via several hairpin turns.
