Pla de Nègua
Pla de Nègua (or Nequa) is an alpine plateau at an elevation of 1.987m (6,519ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, in north-eastern Spain, near the French border.
Located in the Pyrenees mountain range, the road to the summit is unpaved, with some grassy sections. Starting from Esterri de Cardós, a small mountain town, the ascent is about 10km long. It’s recommended from late spring to early fall, since you´ll go through mountain roads where there is often snow.
Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime and can sometimes block some sections of the road, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. Along the way you can enjoy a high mountain environment typical of the Pyrenees area.
