Adou del Bastareny
Adou del Bastareny is the spring of Bastareny River, at an elevation of 1.013m (3,323ft) above the sea level, located in the comarca of Berguedà, in Catalonia, Spain.
The road to the source of the Bastareny River (or Adou) is a forest track in good condition. It’s called Camí de Monell. The views along the way are stunning. It’s a natural place of great beauty, with some waterfalls. Open to traffic throughout the year, may be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad. The road is pretty narrow. It shouldn’t be attempted by those who don't know how to reverse.
Try to avoid holidays seasons and weekends: the road does get busier. It suffers the harsh meteorological conditions of the area every winter. Located in the Cadí Moixeró natural Park, the road is gravel but pretty steep. Starting from the road BV-4024, at Bagà, the ascent is 6.9 km long, with 5 hairpin turns.
