Punta de Estaca de Bares
Framed within an impressive landscape, Punta de Estaca de Bares is the northernmost point of Spain and the entire Iberian Peninsula.
Located in the province of A Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia, the road to the cape is asphalted but very narrow, totally impassable for 2 cars at the same time. The cape separates the Cantabrian Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. High winds blow here all year long. It is one of the rainiest places in Europe.
On the cape there are several constructions, including a lighthouse, a hotel/restaurant and abandoned military facilities. The road has been featured in Spanish Vuelta race. Starting from O Barqueiro town, the road is 8.8 km long. The drive is very scenic.
