Carretera Vieja (TF-28 Road)
TF-28, nicknamed as Carretera Vieja (the Old road) is one of the most iconic drives on the island of Tenerife, in Spain’s Canary Islands.
The road is asphalted and links the cities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Playa de las Américas. The road condition is not all that good in some places. This route is not recommended if your passengers are prone to car sickness. Don’t stuff your belly too much. It is generally quiet and gives you hundreds of twisties. It used to be the main road between south and north of the island until TF-1 highway got build alongside it.
Locally known as the road with thousand bends, the drive is 99,070 km long. It is build alongside the mountains and follows its curves. The road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn. The views along the drive are simply dazzling. It is a continuous carousel of ascents and descents and so twisty that will delight all drivers.
