Located in the Sierra de Caldereros range, the spectacular, eye-catching fort was built upon a rock from the 12th century. It is a great location to shoot a film of medieval atmosphere. In 2016, scenes for the sixth season of the popular series Game of Thrones were filmed here.
The rough road to the castle is dirt and rocky. It gets increasingly rocky and steep. It's in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Mobiles without signal most of the time. The road is very bumpy and not meant for sports cars. Especially during wet weather, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is advised. There aren't any parking lots but you can just park by the road.
