Road Esplugafreda-Claramunt
Esplugafreda-Claramunt is a high mountain road located in Catalonia, Spain, in the comarca of the Pallars Jussà.
The road, located within the Vall Alta de Serradell-Terreta-Serra de Sant Gervàs, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. It’s 17.7km long. The road is usually impassable in winters. It links the towns of Esplugafreda and Claramunt.
This is a high mountain road climbing up several mountain passes. Its highest elevation is at 1.302m above the sea level. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. Open to all motorized vehicles, however, strongly recommended for high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicles. The road is very rough--only try driving it in a 2wd car, if you're planning to buy a new car.
