The curvy road to Coll de Pimes

Coll de Pimés is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,136m (7,007ft) above sea level, located on the border of Andorra and Spain. It’s one of the highest roads in the country.

Where is Coll de Pimés?

The pass is located near the iconic Alt de la Rabassa, on the border between Sant Julià de Lòria parish in Andorra and Lleida province, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, in northern Spain. Near the summit, there’s a mountain cabin known as Refugi de Roca de Pimes.

How long is the road through Coll de Pimés?

The road through the summit is totally unpaved. It’s 25km (15 miles) long, running north-south from Juberri or Juverri (in Andorra) to Bescaran (in Spain). A 4x4 vehicle is required.

Is the road to Coll de Pimés open in winter?

Set high in the Pyrenees mountain range, the road to the summit is totally impassable in winter.
