Alto del Morredero
Alto del Morredero is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.762m above the sea level, located in the province of León, Castile and León, in northwestern Spain
The road to the summit is called LE-CV 192/21. It’s asphalted but very steep, with sections up to 15%. There’s little traffic and the road can be closed anytime due the snow. The road offers stunning views. The pass has been featured in the Spanish Vuelta race.
Starting from Ponferrada, the ascent is 25 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1.347 meters. The average percentage is 5.4 %. And starting from Corporales, the ascent is 18 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1.130 meters. The average percentage is 6.3 %.
