A wild steep road to Alto de Hazallanas
Alto de Hazallanas is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.679m (5,508ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Granada, Spain. The climb includes gradients in double figures for long periods, and the inside of the hairpins are regularly over 20%.
There are 3 roads to reach the summit: GR-3200, A-395 and A-4025. All of them are asphalted in very good condition but pretty steep. Expect little traffic throughout the climb. The climb has been used in the Spanish Vuelta a España race. Located in the Sierra Nevada National Park, starting from Pinos Geril - Güéjar Sierra, the ascent is 16.3 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 890 meters. The average percentage is 5.4 %.
