A narrow paved road to Ortzanzurieta
Ortzanzurieta is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.570m (5,150ft) above the sea level, located in the Pyrenees, a range of mountains in southwest Europe that forms a natural border between France and Spain. The pass is traversed by the NA-2033 road.
Ortzanzurieta is located in Navarre, northern Spain. This paved road can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. The road has no central lines and it’s very narrow. There are no protections or guard rails along some parts of the route. The road is very narrow in some sections. There is little room for error on this road. The main risk on this road is coming around a blind corner to discover a vehicle proceeding toward you at high speed. It shouldn’t be attempted by those who don't know how to reverse.
The road does not get below 8%, with the steepest gradient being 20%. The paved road to reach the pass starts from the summit of the Puerto de Ibañeta, at an elevation of 1,057 m (3,468 ft) above the sea level. It has a length of 6km.
