Where is Puerto Camacho?
The pass is located in the autonomous community of Andalusia, in the southern part of Spain. At the summit, a deteriorated road, with grass growing through cracks in the asphalt, large potholes, stones, and a very bumpy surface, climbs up to Los Pelaos - Repetidor Lújar, a mountain peak at 1,873m (6,145ft) above sea level.
Is Puerto Camacho paved?
Set high in the Alpujarra mountains, in the Sierra de Lújar range, the road to the summit is fully paved and in very good condition. However, it’s not an easy drive, featuring narrow sections, countless turns, many hairpin curves, with an average gradient of 7% and a maximum gradient of 12% through some of the ramps.
How long is the road to Puerto Camacho?
Tucked away in the comarca of Alpujarra Granadina, the road to the summit is called A-4131. It is 16.3 km (10.12 miles) long, running north-south from Órgiva to Haza del Lino.
