A wonderful drive with views through Hoz del Júcar
Hoz del Júcar is the name of a very scenic drive running through an incredible landscape located in Albacete province, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Castile–La Mancha, in central Spain. It’s one of the most scenic canyon roads of Spain.
The scenic and narrow road is totally paved running through Hoz del Júcar, an imposing gorge created by the karst erosion of the waters of Júcar river. The road is called B5. It’s a very challenging road with old homes built into the cliffs. High risk of rock slides.
The drive is 31.2 km (19.38 miles) long, running west-east from CM-3218 road to Alcalá del Júcar, one of the most beautiful towns in the country. The drive is extremely challenging due its narrowness but very scenic, with stunning views. The width of the road ranges from 2.50 to 5.60 meters. In parts, it’s totally impassable for 2 cars at the same time, so proceed cautiously and hope no other vehicles come from the other direction. Not recommended if you don't know how to reverse.
