The Road To Muela de San Juan Has it All
Muela de San Juan is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.830m (6,003ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Teruel, Aragon, northern Spain.
The road to the summit is 3.4 km (2.11 miles) long. It’s mostly paved (2.5km) to a ski resort. Beyond the parking lot, the road turns to gravel (900 meters), but navigable by all passenger vehicles. Access to the pass is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions.
The summit is crowned with a fire lookout tower. The climb is pretty steep. Starting from TE-V-9032 road, on Griegos, the ascent is 3.4km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 217m. The average gradient is 6.38%.
