Collado Chaquetas, a chillout road in high mountains
Collado Chaquetas is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.801m (5,908ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Granada, in the region of Andalucia, southern Spain.
The road to the summit, located in the Sierra Nevada National Park, is unpaved. Recommended from late spring to early fall, since you´ll go through mountain roads where there is often snow. SUV or all-road vehicles recommended.
Along the way you can enjoy magnificent views to the snowy peaks of Mulhacén and Veleta. Ideal time to travel is daylight. Not adviced night drive. The road is very steep, with some sections up to 15%.
