Pico da Barrosa
Pico da Barrosa is a mountain pass at an elevation of 936m (3,070ft) above the sea level located in the island of São Miguel in the Portuguese Azores. At the summit it’s possible to see both the North and South Coasts.
The winding scenic road to the summit is asphalted but very steep. It’s called EN5-2A and runs through amazing vulcanic sceneries. Take your time to enjoy the beautiful view. Truly stunning. At the summit there are some communication towers and a parking lot.
The road is 21.0 km long with 16 hairpin turns and links the villages of Ribeira Grande (in the northern part of the island) and Lagoa (in the southwestern part). The drive is a thrill to experience.
