If you love to drive, you'll love the Road N308-1

N308-1 is the name of the sharply winding and precipitous ascent in a narrow zig-zag road in the northwestern Portuguese area. It’s one of the most scenic drives in the country.

Located in the district of Braga, the road is paved, but includes some narrow sections and 18 hairpin turns in its 19.5km. It links the Portela do Homem mountain pass, at an elevation of 822m above the sea level, on the Spain-Portugal border and Rio Caldo, a small town at an elevation of 161m above the sea level.
The road includes some steep sections. Starting from Rio Caldo, the road is 19.5km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 661m and the average percentage is 3,4%.

The drive is definitely worth it. There are many excellent photo opportunities. Don't forget your camera with lots of film/memory and fully charged batteries! Along the route there are several waterfalls, including Cascata de Leonte and Cascata da Portela do Homem.
