The Storehaug Tunnel Old Road is said to be the scary of scaries
Located in Vestland county, in western Norway, the old RV13 road is a terrible scary mountain road. The surface is in terrible conditions.
The road is 1.93km (1.19 miles) long and was bypassed in 1981 by the Storehaug, a 1.044m long tunnel. This track can get very muddy and slippery after rain making it challenging to get through, with dangerous drop offs.
The road was paved, but the weather deteriorated its conditions, turning the drive to a nightmare. This road tests the skill, and courage, of any driver. It’s definitely not for anyone suffering from vertigo or a fear of landslides. Only the suicidal, the insane, or the paid-to-do-this should ever drive down.
