Take the Scenic Route and Discover Valdresflye
Valdresflye is a mountain plateau at an elevation of 1.393m (4,570ft) above the sea level, located in Innlandet county, Norway. It's one of the highest roads of the country.
Set high in the easternmost part of Jotunheimen, the road to the plateau, also known as Valdresflya and Valdresflyi, is totally paved. It’s called National Tourist Route Valdresflye (Fylkesvei 51). The road opens from early May and normally well into the month of November, but it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. The weather may change rapidly at the mountain plateau.
The road to the summit is 49km (30.44 miles) long and runs from Garli (near Beitostølen) to Besstrondsæter in Vågå. The road is a little bit narrow at times but mostly fine.
