Lago Volaia
The Lago Volaia (Wolayersee) is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 1.963m (6,440ft) above the sea level, located in the Carnic Alps, on the Swiss-Italian border.
The road to the summit, located within the Lesachtal Valley, is gravel, rocky and bumpy. Expect a very narrow trail with several hairpin turns. The road can be closed anytime due to snow and ice. It’s usually impassable from September to June. The last part of the climb is closed to private motor vehicles.
