Gardeccia Refuge
Rifugio Gardeccia is a high mountain refuge at an elevation of 1.950m (6,397ft) above the sea level, located in the middle of the Dolomites, in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol.
Surrounded by the Catinaccio mountain range in the Dolomites, the road to the hut is called SP238, also known as Strada de Gardeccia. It’s mostly asphalted but closed to private cars. The road is pretty steep, with sections up to 14.2%. In the year 1902 began the building and the refuge was immediately appreciated and frequented.
