The road to Monte Faudo in Imperia is not for the sissies
Monte Faudo is a mountain peak at an elevation of 1.149m (3,769ft) above the sea level, located in the Province of Imperia in the Italian region Liguria.
The road to the summit is mostly gravel (the old asphalt is destroyed). It’s a service road narrow and steep, but drivable by 4x4. At the summit there are some telecommunications antennas. The road is totally closed to private vehicles. From the summit you can enjoy a beautiful view towards San Lorenzo al Mare and Imperia.
The road to the summit is very steep, hitting a 17% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. Starting at SP45 on Pietrabruna, the ascent is 18.8 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 798 meters. The average gradient is 4.24%.
