Where is Colle Lazzara?

The pass, also known as Colle Laz Ara, Colle l’Azzara, and Colle La Zará, is located in the Piedmont region in the northern part of the country.

Is Colle Lazzara unpaved?

The road to the summit is an old military road built at the beginning of the 1700s. It’s unpaved and extremely narrow, impassable for two cars. It’s not recommended if you don’t know how to reverse. Most of the time, the road is accessible by passenger cars and RVs. The track includes several bends and is really rough, steep, sometimes rocky, and impassable after rains.

How long is the road to Colle Lazzara?

The road is 8.3 km (5.15 miles) long, running west-east from Rivoira to Ruata.

Is Colle Lazzara worth the drive?

Located within the Conca Cialancia Natural Park, the summit has a small parking lot. It’s a site of historical interest connected to the events of 1704-6 during the war between France and Savoy. Along the path, there are several military constructions.
