The road to the summit is fully paved and in very good condition. Though don’t be fooled, as the drive is pretty steep and features more than 40 hairpin turns. It’s called Strada Provinciale 85 (SP85).
How long is the road to Monte Bondone?
Set high in the Alps, the road through the pass is about 40km (25 miles) long, running east-west from Trento to Lasino. Starting from Trento, the elevation gain is 1.463 meters and the average gradient is 6.8%. Starting from Lasino, the elevation gain is 1.203 meters. The average gradient is 5.1%, but the maximum slope is 13%.
