Where is Monte Grane?
The peak is located in the Piedmont region, in the northern part of the country, within Valle Po. At the summit, there’s a mountain refuge known as Rifugio Ghincia Pasteur.
How long is the road to Monte Grane?
The road to the peak is totally unpaved and accessible by 4x4 vehicles only. However, it is closed to private vehicles. Starting from Rifugio Pian della Regina, the road is 3.4 km (2.11 miles) long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 503 m, and the average gradient is 14.79%.
Is the road to Monte Grane open in winter?
Set high in the Cottian Alps, this road is only open between June and October.
