A truly outstanding 4x4 adventure to Kissavos Peak
Kissavos (Mount Ossa) is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.819m (5,967ft) above the sea level, located in the Larissa regional unit, on the east side of Thessaly, Greece. It’s one of the highest roads of the country.
The road to the summit is totally unpaved. 4x4 vehicle required. Access to the summit is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions.
The summit is crowned with an abandoned weather station and communications facilities. Starting from Kokkino Nero, the road is 42.6 km (26.47 miles) long.
