Travel Guide to Lac de Gaube in the Pyrénées
Lac de Gaube is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 1.734m (5,688ft) above the sea level, located in the Hautes-Pyrénées department and the region of Occitanie in south-western France.
Located in the French Pyrenees, the road to the lake is gravel, rocky and treacherous in parts. The road is closed to motor vehicles. Always check the weather forecast before you start your journey. The lake has an average depth of 40m. Near the lake there is a bar / restaurant, Hôtellerie du Lac de Gaube, that is open during the summer months. It’s the only building by the lakeside.
