Col des Encombres
Col des Encombres is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.367m (7,765ft) above the sea level, located in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
The road to the summit is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is usually impassable in winters. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 required. Expect steep serpentine turns, loose gravel, deep washouts…
Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. Most of the single-lane road was originally built for the construction of an overland line, and since then it has scarcely been maintained.
