Les 12 lacets de Ceillac: a breathtaking road with 12 challenging hairpins
Located in the Hautes-Alpes department in southeastern France, Les 12 lacets de Ceillac is a collection of 12 hairpin turns on the road to the small town of Ceillac.
The road to the town is called D60. It’s asphalted, but with some narrow sections. It’s 8.2km long. Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice.
The road is pretty steep. Starting from the D902 road, the ascent is 8.2km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 589 meters. The average percentage is 7,18% with sections up to 10%.
