Faux Col de Restefond is one of the highest paved roads of France
Faux Col de Restefond is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.656m (8,713ft) above the sea level, located located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, in southeastern France. It's one of the highest roads of the country.
The road to the pass, located within the Mercantour National Park, is asphalted. It’s called C4 (Route de Nice) and is closed between October and May. This pass is strictly speaking not on the road to Col de la Bonette, but most would claim to have visited it even though they do not bother to go the 50 metres on the gravel road below. The pass is located next to Col de la Bonette, Cime de la Bonette and Col de Restefond.
