Col du Jovet
Col du Jovet is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.404m (7,887ft) above the sea level, located in the Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
The road to the pass is gravel. Pretty steep and narrow. It’s totally impassable in winters. The last part of the climb is terrible steep. Simply wild. Almost 2,000 metres vertical, lots of hairpins, on near-deserted roads.
The road is in pretty good conditions to the Refuge du Mont Jovet. Starting from Les Plaines, the road is a big, hairpin-filled, quiet road until Notre-Dame-du-Pré (1270 metres). At 1.835 metres the paved road just ends.
