D29, a balcony road in France
D29 is a short mountain road with a length of 14.3km located in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. The road links the villages of Guillaumes and Valberg
The paved road is narrow and steep. It starts in Guillaumes, at an elevation of 795m above the sea level. At the gateway to the National Mercantour Park, Guillaumes is a charming village nestling at the bottom of the high valley of the Var river, on the road to the Cayolle pass. The road ends in Valberg in the middle of a splendid alpine environment in the Mercantour Massif. The town is located just one hour's drive from the French Riviera and Nice Côte d'Azur international airport, at an elevation of 1.672m above the sea level.
