Station de Ski du Haut Asco is an abandoned ski resort at an elevation of 1,509m (4,950ft) above sea level, located in Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s one of the highest roads in Corsica.

Set high in the Haute-Corse department in the Corsica region, the ski resort was permanently closed in 2019. A few shops, including a bar, hotel, and restaurant, still remain at the end of the road.
Is the Road to the Abandoned Haut Asco Ski Resort Challenging?
The road to the old ski station is fully paved but narrow, steep, and winding. It’s called D147. The road is in good condition but has no guard rails and is essentially one lane running through the Gorges de l’Asco. Vehicles over 11m long are prohibited.
How Long is the Road to the Abandoned Haut Asco Ski Resort?
The road is 41 km (25.47 miles) long, running east-west from Moltifao to the abandoned resort. It was partly constructed by the Foreign Legionnaires in the 1960s.
