Tucked away in the southeastern part of the country, the road through the summit, also known as Col du Pas de Lauzens, is entirely paved. It’s called the D70 road. The pass is 13.7 km (8.51 miles) long, running north-south from Aouste-sur-Sye to Saou.
Is Col du Pas de Lauzun defiant?
The drive is quite challenging, with countless curves and hairpin turns, reaching a maximum gradient of 14.3% on some ramps. It has a high risk of rock slides. The most demanding part of the drive is Pas de Lauzun, a narrow stretch of rocks entirely impassable for two average cars at the same time.
