Col d'Agnes is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.573m (5,160ft) above the sea level, located in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region of France.
Is Col d'Agnes paved?
Set high in the Pyrenees mountain range, the road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called D8F (part of Route des Cols des Pyrénées). Access to the pass is typically open all year round but short term closures are common in winter. The climb has been featured in the Tour de France race. It’s a pretty steep road, hitting an 11.0% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
How long is Col d'Agnes?
Tucked away on the south-western part of the country, the pass is 15.0 km (9.32 miles) long running from Aulus-les-Bains to D18 Road. Approximately 4.0 km (2.5 mi) from the summit is the junction with the climb to Port de Lers.
