Großsee is a high mountain reservoir at an elevation of 2.481m (8,139ft) above sea level, located in the district of Spittal an der Drau in the Austrian state of Carinthia.

Set high in the Austrian Alps, the narrow and winding road to the summit is mostly paved. The asphalt ends at 2.470m (8,103ft) above sea level, and the last stretch is impassable due to big stones/boulders and usually snow.

The road was built in 1978 and has 30 hairpin turns. Starting at Großkirchheim, the ascent is 15.8 km (9.81 miles) long.
