The plateau is situated in the northwestern part of the country, near the borders with Spain and France, within the Parc Natural Comunal de les Valls del Comapedrosa.

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Ruta General 11.1. Starting from Arinsal, the ascent is 2.9 km (1.67 miles) long. The road is very steep, with an elevation gain of 456 meters. The average gradient is 15.72%.

Can I drive my vehicle to Pla de l’Estany in Andorra?

A 4x4 vehicle is required. No personal vehicles are allowed on this road, only the local "taxis", which are all either Jeeps or Land Rovers.
