A chairlift trail to the summit of Mount Mussa-Achitara
Mount Mussa-Achitara is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 3.141m (10,305ft) above the sea level, located in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, in Russia. It's one of the highest mountain roads of Europe.
Set amongst the Caucasus Mountains near the Georgian border within the Teberda Nature Reserve, the road to the summit is a chairlift access trail. It’s unpaved and totally impassable from September to June. 4x4 required. Expect a trail pretty steep. At the summit you can feel the lack of oxygen in the rarefied air.
Located within the Ski resort Dombai, the summit offers a breathtaking panorama of snow-capped peaks, sparkling glaciers, turbulent, fast-moving rivers and waterfalls ringing. The summit offers really wonderful views on the mountain valleys and mountain ridges of Dombai.
