Sikhote-Alin Pass: a remote road
Perevale Sikhote-Alin'skom is a mountain pass at an elevation of 853m (2,798ft) above the sea level, located in Vaninsky District, in Khabarovsk Krai, in the Russian Far East.
The road to the summit is totally paved. It’s a remote drive through the Sikhote-Alin State Natural Biosphere Reserve. When the snow falls - which it does in the winter – things get tough and slippery. The road features steep sections.
Set high in the Sikhote-Alin Mountains, the pass road is 321km (200 miles) long, running east-west from Vanino, the administrative center of the district to Lidoga.
